The club came into existence in autumn 1978 and currently has over eighty members. We meet on a Saturday evening in a St. Albans school for tastings hosted by an expert in their area. Additionally we run a very light-hearted annual blind tasting competition for a dented silver cup bought for a fiver in a car-boot sale, and a summer barbecue. The December meeting is always somewhat festive with wines interspersed by entertainment – such as madrigal singers or a barbershop group. Meetings are characterized by - amongst other things – friendliness and informality.
This November, we are organizing a trip to the Cave Ouvert wine and food festival in Epernay , including gourmet meals and cellar visits.
The Club is independent and non-profit making and is managed by a revolving committee of members
